We had the most wonderful time here. Beautiful, exotic birds in a peaceful setting far removed from the "strip" in Pigeon Forge. Lush gardens, water features and plenty of benches to sit on, relax and enjoy nature. It is well worth the extra $15 to get your picture taken with 4-8 of the birds sitting on your head, arms and hands. It is also worth the extra $2 to feed warm nectar to the smaller birds. They land all over you and it is quite an experience. The staff was very friendly and extremely knowledgeable. I took my Mom who has some issues with her legs and back and even though there were some steep inclines and steps she did OK and there were plenty of places for her to stop and rest whenever she wanted to. I can't recommend this experience enough!
You'll never get as close and have a such fun with exotic birds as you will here. I have two boys, age 8 & 11, and they LOVED it. The staff there is over the top nice. If you love exotic birds...GO!
The Parrot shop in the Island is a must see place. The Parrots are so beautiful and you can get to pet them and have pictures, plus if you go to the shop you will get a $2.00 off coupon to use at Parrot Mountain. All the other places give you only $1.00 off. I found this out while in the store. So peaceful there at the store and the girl who works there is such a sweet heart.
I love this place, is owned and operated by Christians and it is Amazing!! Bible verses throughout your walk a replica of Jesus's Tomb, along with Beautiful Birds. They will talk to you, climb on you, it is so much fun. A definite WOW day. I will continue to visit on every trip I take to Pigeon Forge.
