"Fun Indoor Zoo"
TripAdvisor user rating 5 out of 5

Rainforest Adventures is a fun little indoor zoo. It's a great rainy day activity. The prices are reasonable and you can find a $2.00 coupon on their website and in the many Pigeon Forge coupon books available around town. We've been twice and enjoyed it both times. There's a few animals outside but most of them are indoors. They have over 600 animals; many of which are reptiles, amphibians, and birds. Recently they aquired golden headed lion tamarins (tiny monkeys). They also have an educational animal show at certain times of day. It's a fun, cheap activity to do while in the Smokeys.

"Sorta made me sad.."

The zoo sorta made me sad and I was disappointed overall with my experience. Once you walk to the area with the viewing windows, you are hit with an overwhelming odor of urine and dirty enclosures. And mind you, these enclosures are not open, but enclosed by glass. None of the animals seem to have enrichment toys within their enclosures and we're just found pacing and very anxious. The outside animals which consisted of goats, donkey and llamas were contained in a very muddy and feces caked area. This area also wreaked quite badly. And beyond that area was a small aviary area with a few roosters in a small enclosure. This area made no sense to me. Overall, I wouldn't return. Can tell it's all about the revenue and not about the welfare of the animals.

Loved looking at all the animals. My favorite was the Serval Cat. The baby goats were also cute and the lemurs.

The exhibit was great. So many colorful birds that I have never seen before. The animals were amazing. I definitely would recommend this place to visit while on vacation.
